Are greens powders Wearth it?

We hear a lot of noise around Greens powders and as per our mission, we want to make things simple, jargon free and free of bullshit.

So, as women in the prime of our midlife, do we think they are worth it? Do we need to take them and if so, what do I need to know?

The hype

#greenspowder has over 2.5 billion views on TikTok – that's a lot of interest, my god.  The greens powder industry is worth over £265 million and has heavy involvement from celebs and influencers. There is not much recent scientific research done on green powders specifically over the last 10 years or so but there are lots of opinions from nutritionists and consumers alike...

What are greens powders?

In a nutshell, greens powders are mostly dehydrated fruits and green vegetables, think broccoli, kale, spinach, blended into a powder. Like a frozen pea, they keep their nutrient wins as they’re made from dehydrated veg. They are then packaged up and sold as more of a supplement. In powder form, they are easy to mix with water or milk and drink in a few seconds. Perfect for boosting our health and well-being...

They can also contain other ingredients which we and our bodies love such as spirulina and wheatgrass – we’ll come onto that a little further on.

Do we actually need them?

So short answer is no. If we all ate our daily requirements of green veg, fruit we don’t need them. But. And it is a big BUT, let’s face it, we probably don’t, meaning we probably feel run down, low in energy and fatigued. Being honest,  we don’t even know how much we need to be eating to get our daily fix of greens. Yes, we could weigh our foods at every meal but some days, this just isn’t an option as we put everyone and everything else before our own needs. Guilty...

For us, it provides us with a backup, a peace of mind. The one we love (more on that later), also has loads more good stuff packed in, perfect for us busy people. We struggle to consistently do the right thing, all the time. It’s too much pressure and sometimes, we just need to take the easy wins.

We use greens powders as a supplement to our diet, not a replacement. We all know it is better to eat the real food but it is a great way to throw in some extra nutrients, give us piece of mind and an energy boost on those days we just need it.

Which one do we swear by?

Wearth Advanced Greens is our go to. There are many out there but this one is the one we like the most, has a great ethos, high quality ingredients and tastes so good, even our teenagers like it. We only stock products we use ourselves and we know work. We have good feedback constantly on this bad boy.

So what makes it so good?

Ingredients. They're good quality and varied giving us a boost in areas very much needed. Here are some of the key ones picked out for you:

Spirulina:

This is actually a natural algae and contains protein, vitamins (like B), and minerals, such as iron and calcium.  It helps to reduce inflammation, reduce blood pressure and lower bad cholesterol. It has even been said to protect against cancer. If you have hay fever or developed these symptoms in menopause, it can help with this too!  Head here If you want to read more.

Chlorella:

Chlorella is the king of for its detoxifying properties, as it may help bind to heavy metals and toxins in the body and assist in their removal. Like spirulina, chlorella is nutrient-dense, providing essential vitamins, minerals, and protein.
Chlorella may also support the immune system through its various nutrients and antioxidants. Head here if you want to read more:

KSM-66 Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb that has been traditionally used to reduce stress and promote relaxation. KSM-66 is a standardised extract known for its potency. Some research suggests that ashwagandha may support cognitive function and memory. It also has a positive effect on libido, menstrual health and can also aid in infertility.  Chicory Root

Chicory root contains inulin, a prebiotic fibre that can support gut health by promoting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. Some studies suggest that chicory root may help regulate blood sugar levels. It may have anti-inflammatory properties due to its inulin content.

Barley Grass

Barley grass is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, including vitamins A, C, and E. It may assist in detoxification by supporting liver function and aiding in the elimination of toxins. Barley grass is alkaline-forming in the body, which may help balance pH levels.

So in summary if you're still with us, Wearth Advanced Supergreens Powder can help:

Sustain Energy Levels
Support Gut Health
Support Immunity
Reduce Stress and Anxiety
Reduce Brain Fog
Reduce Blood Pressure
Lower Cholesterol

What should I expect if I drink it?

You absolutely should be consistent with drinking this daily. You’ll see improvements after about 2 weeks. Have it warm, cold, with milk or water, the key is to have it as part of your daily plan. It really does taste delicious. Our favourite is with almond or oat milk but if we run out, good old cows milk is also delicious. With water is nice too, just doesn’t feel as much as a treat as the milk version!

Super sustainable too

Here is message from the founder of Wearth, Dom. He's a bloody nice guy with a real passion for what he does.

“As a former athlete and coach I have used multiple products over the years but I could never find a wellness product that truly tasted great and was a natural formula

I consistently felt run down and unwell, not getting all the nutrients my body needed so I started testing different superfoods. I noticed a huge difference but if I’m honest I didn’t like the taste at all! This has led me on a mission of creating a natural product that tastes delicious and does exactly what it says on the packaging!"

Wearth has a mission to help and support as many humans as we can reach on their wellness journey.

Join our journey with us and trust us to support yours!" - Dominic Oddy
